What Is a Good Score in AILET? The Honest Answer, by Marks and Rank
A good score in AILET is any score that lands you inside the closing rank for your category at NLU Delhi, and that rank is far more stable than the marks behind it. For the General category the closing rank sits near AIR 60 to 65 every year, which in a moderate paper usually means somewhere around 90 to 105 marks out of 150. For reserved categories the bar is lower: roughly 75 to 85 for EWS and OBC, and about 60 to 70 for SC and ST. The exact marks move every year with the difficulty of the paper, which is why you will see wildly different numbers quoted online. This guide from the CLAT Coaching Delhi mentoring team explains what a good AILET score really means, gives you category wise targets, a clean marks vs rank table, and the previous year cutoffs so you can set a number that is actually true.

How to Clear CLAT Exam: Full Preparation Strategy
To clear the CLAT exam you need three things working together. A clear grip on the exam pattern, a study plan built around the months you actually have, and a weekly loop of mock tests and revision that keeps improving your accuracy under time pressure. CLAT is an aptitude test, not a memory test. The students who clear it are the ones who read fast, reason well across five sections, and practise under exam like conditions until the clock stops scaring them. This guide from the CLAT Coaching Delhi mentoring team shows you exactly how to do that, whether you have twelve months or just thirty days.

How to Give the CLAT Exam: Step by Step Application and Exam Day Guide

On exam day you appear at your allotted centre for a two hour offline paper. This guide from the CLAT Coaching Delhi team walks you through every step of giving the CLAT exam, from the notification to the moment you sit down with the question paper.

Difference Between Decree and Order in CPC: Section 2(2) vs 2(14) Explained
The difference between decree and order is that a decree is the court’s formal, conclusive decision on the parties’ rights in a suit (Section 2(2) of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908), while an order is any other formal decision of a civil court (Section 2(14)). A decree settles substantive rights and is appealable as of right unless the law bars it. An order usually deals with procedure or interim relief and is appealable only if the Code says so. Law Prep Tutorial Delhi’s memory aid: a decree ends the dispute, or a stage of it. An order steers the case along the way.

It is conducted once a year by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admission to 5-year integrated LLB programmes (CLAT UG) and LLM programmes (CLAT PG) at 26 National Law Universities and more than 60 other colleges. AILET Sample Paper: Download Previous Year Question Papers (2026 to 2015) with Answer Keys
An AILET sample paper is a full practice set built on NLU Delhi’s current three-section pattern of 150 questions in 120 minutes: English Language (50), Current Affairs and General Knowledge (30) and Logical Reasoning (70). The strongest practice comes from AILET previous year question papers, which are the real papers NLU Delhi has already used. You can download every AILET PYQ with answer keys from 2026 back to 2015 in the tables below. One caution before you start: AILET dropped Mathematics and its separate Legal Aptitude section in 2022, so papers from 2021 and earlier no longer match the exam you will sit, and you should use them only for topic drills, not for full timed mocks.

CM Full Form: Chief Minister Meaning, Hindi Name and How One Is Appointed
The full form of CM is Chief Minister. A Chief Minister is the elected head of the government of an Indian state or a union territory that has a legislature. In Hindi the Chief Minister is called the Mukhyamantri (मुख्यमंत्री). The Chief Minister is appointed by the Governor under Articles 163 and 164 of the Constitution of India and is the real head of the state government, while the Governor is the constitutional or nominal head. So whenever you see CM before a name, it means that person is the Chief Minister of that state.

A year earlier, 75,361 students appeared for CLAT 2025 out of 78,914 registered. With roughly 4,000 UG seats across the National Law Universities, about 18 UG candidates compete for every NLU seat.

Best Time Table for CLAT Preparation: Daily Study Plan

What Is a Corporate Lawyer? Meaning, Role and What They Actually Do
A corporate lawyer is a legal professional who advises businesses on the laws that govern how a company is formed, financed, run and closed. Most of the work is transactional and advisory rather than courtroom work: drafting and negotiating contracts, guiding mergers and acquisitions, keeping the company compliant with regulations, and advising the board on corporate governance. The role is also called corporate counsel, and a corporate lawyer employed inside a single company is called in-house counsel.

Solicitor vs Attorney: The Difference, Plus Lawyer, Barrister and Advocate Explained
A solicitor and an attorney do broadly the same job. The difference is mainly geography. “Solicitor” is the term used in the United Kingdom, Australia and much of the Commonwealth for a lawyer who advises clients and handles legal work mostly outside court. “Attorney” is the term used in the United States for a lawyer licensed to represent clients and argue in court. Neither is more senior than the other. They are two countries’ words for a qualified legal professional, shaped by two different legal systems

Reading Comprehension Practice for CLAT: How to Actually Get Good at It
To practise reading comprehension for CLAT, work through a full passage of about 450 words every day, answer its four or five questions under a timer, and then review why each option is right or wrong. The CLAT English Language section carries roughly 22 to 26 questions, close to a fifth of the 120-question paper, and every wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, so accuracy counts as much as speed. CLAT Coaching Delhi recommends one timed passage a day alongside a daily editorial from The Hindu or The Indian Express. The three original passages below come with full answers and explanations you can save as a CLAT reading comprehension PDF

CLAT Possible Online Coaching: An Honest Guide for Anyone Deciding This Year
CLAT Possible online coaching prepares you for CLAT 2027 and AILET through live two-way classes, a practice platform called MyZone, regular mock tests with analysis, one-to-one mentoring, and printed and digital study material. There are separate programmes for Class 11, Class 12 and droppers, and you can move from the online course to a classroom one later by paying the difference. Because each programme is priced by its length and format, ask for the current batch fee before you compare it with anyone else.

Lawyer vs Advocate: What Is the Difference in India?
In India, every advocate is a lawyer, but not every lawyer is an advocate. A lawyer is anyone who holds a law degree such as an LLB and can give legal advice or draft documents. An advocate is a lawyer who has gone one step further, clearing the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) and enrolling with a State Bar Council, which grants the legal right to represent clients and argue cases in court under the Advocates Act, 1961. So the practical difference is simple: a lawyer advises, an advocate advises and appears in court.

The main law entrance exams after 12th are CLAT, AILET, SLAT, CUET UG for law and state exams such as MH CET Law. CLAT is the most widely taken. LSAT India, which older guides still list, was discontinued by LSAC from the 2025 cycle and is no longer held.

Is There Negative Marking in CLAT? Yes, Here Is Exactly How It Works
Yes, CLAT has negative marking. Every wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks, every correct answer adds 1 mark, and unattempted questions carry no penalty. Across 120 questions worth 120 marks, four wrong answers cancel out one correct answer, so accuracy decides your CLAT score more than the number of questions you attempt

Of these 26, 24 admit students through the CLAT, while NLU Delhi runs its own AILET exam and NLU Meghalaya conducts a separate test. You will sometimes see the figure quoted as 27, because Gujarat National Law University runs a second campus at Silvassa that is counted separately during counselling, and older articles still say 24 or 25 before the newest additions were recognised.

Difference Between CLAT and AILET (2027): Full Comparison
The main difference between CLAT and AILET is who conducts them and how many colleges they open. According to CLAT Coaching Delhi, CLAT is run by the Consortium of NLUs and is the gateway to almost every National Law University except NLU Delhi, while AILET is run by NLU Delhi and is the only route into NLU Delhi. CLAT has 120 questions across five sections, including Legal Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. AILET has 150 questions across just three sections, with no separate Legal Reasoning or maths section. The two exams fall about a week apart, so most aspirants prepare for and sit both.

CLAT coaching after 10th means starting a structured two-year foundation programme in Class 11, right after your board results, so you sit the Common Law Admission Test at the end of Class 12 fully prepared. You cannot appear for CLAT immediately after Class 10, because eligibility requires you to have passed or be appearing in Class 12. What you can do after 10th is start early, and at CLAT Coaching Delhi that early start is the single biggest advantage a Class 10 pass-out can give themselves.

Current Affairs for CLAT: How to Prepare, What to Read, and the Topics That Matter
Current affairs, together with general knowledge, makes up roughly a quarter of CLAT 2027, about 28 to 32 of the 120 questions. At Clat Coaching Delhi NCR we treat it as a reading habit rather than a memory test: read one strong newspaper and one monthly compilation, keep short notes, and revise every month across the twelve months before the 6 December 2026 exam. Because the questions are passage based, understanding why an event matters counts for more than memorising the date it happened.

CLAT Success Rate: How Hard Is CLAT and What Are Your Real Odds?
The CLAT success rate is about 5 to 7 percent. In CLAT 2026, roughly 72,631 undergraduate candidates appeared for only around 4,000 National Law University seats, so fewer than 1 in 15 secure an NLU place. CLAT Coaching Delhi notes the odds improve sharply for candidates who train for speed and accuracy.

Is the CLAT Exam Tough? A Straight, Data-Backed Answer for 2027 Aspirants
Yes, the CLAT exam is tough, but mainly because of competition, not a hard syllabus. Around 75,000 aspirants compete for fewer than 4,000 NLU seats, and you must answer 120 questions in 120 minutes. Yes, you can prepare for CLAT in 6 months. At CLAT Coaching Delhi (Law Prep Tutorial), where 1,310+ students have entered NLUs since 2009, a 6-month plan works when you commit to 4–6 focused hours a day, start newspaper reading from Day 1, follow a month-by-month roadmap across all five CLAT sections, and take 30–50 full-length mocks with honest analysis. CLAT 2027 is on 6 December 2026 — so a true 6-month runway means starting around June 2026. This guide gives you the exact plan, a daily timetable, section-wise strategy, and realistic mock-score-to-rank benchmarks.

Career Options After Law Through CLAT: Paths, Jobs & Salary (2027 Guide)
Clearing CLAT gets you into a 5-year law degree at a National Law University — and from there the career options after CLAT are wide: corporate law, litigation, the judiciary, civil services, in-house counsel, PSU and government legal roles, public policy, academia and emerging fields like legal tech and IP. At CLAT Coaching Delhi (Law Prep Tutorial), where 1,310+ students have entered NLUs since 2009, we tell aspirants the truth: CLAT opens the door, but your 5-year journey — internships, skills and specialisation — decides the salary. This guide maps every path, what each pays, and how to choose.

Salary After CLAT: NLU Placement Packages, Per-Month Pay & ROI (2027)
There is no single "CLAT salary" — CLAT is an entrance exam, not a job. What people mean by salary after CLAT is the pay after a five-year law degree at an NLU. Indicatively, fresh graduates from the top NLUs earn ₹12–20 LPA at Tier-1 law firms (roughly ₹1–1.6 lakh a month), the judiciary pays ₹70,000–1,00,000 a month, and litigation starts far lower but scales. The honest truth we tell aspirants at CLAT Coaching Delhi (Law Prep Tutorial) — 1,310+ NLU selections since 2009 — is that your NLU, internships and skills decide the number, not the CLAT score itself.

When to Start CLAT Preparation: Best Time and Plan
You should start CLAT preparation ideally in Class 11, which gives a two-year runway to build reading, reasoning and current affairs without pressure. Starting in Class 12 works with about a year, and droppers can succeed with a focused six to twelve month plan. This guide covers the best time, timeline and study plan by starting point.

CLAT GK Preparation 2027: Best Strategy and Sources
CLAT GK preparation is best done through a daily habit of reading one newspaper, revising monthly current affairs from the last ten to twelve months, and practising passage-based questions. The Current Affairs and General Knowledge section is the highest-weight part of CLAT at about 25 percent, so this guide covers the syllabus, best sources, a daily routine and tips to score high.

CLAT Cut-Offs 2027: NLU-Wise Closing Ranks, Category-Wise Marks & Safe Score
The CLAT cutoff is the last All-India Rank at which a National Law University filled its seats in a given category. For CLAT 2027, Clat Coaching Delhi (Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR) notes that cutoffs are not pre-declared — they are set during counselling (expected January–March 2027) across five rounds. As a working benchmark, the top NLUs closed within roughly the top 100–400 General ranks in CLAT 2026: NLSIU Bangalore near AIR 108, NALSAR near 168, NUJS Kolkata near 343 and NLU Jodhpur near 364. A General score of about 95–105+ out of 120 targets a top-five NLU; ~85+ reaches most other NLUs.

CLAT vs AILET: Difference, Which Is Tougher & Which You Should Pick (2027)
CLAT and AILET are India's two biggest law entrances, and the difference comes down to reach. CLAT, run by the Consortium of NLUs, is a 120-question, five-section paper that admits you to 26 National Law Universities (around 3,520 UG seats). AILET, run by NLU Delhi, is a faster 150-question, three-section paper that admits you to NLU Delhi alone (around 110 seats). At CLAT Coaching Delhi we tell every aspirant the same thing: because the two syllabi overlap by roughly 80%, preparing for both is usually the smart default, not a luxury — and it is the only way to keep NLU Delhi in play.

NLU List & CLAT Cutoffs 2027: All 26 NLUs, Category-Wise Closing Ranks & Marks vs Rank
The CLAT cut off is the last rank (and the matching score) at which a National Law University closes admission for a given category. For 2027, 26 NLUs admit through CLAT — around 3,500–3,700 UG seats in total — with NLU Delhi the one exception (it uses AILET). As a working guide from CLAT Coaching Delhi: a General-category rank inside the top ~100 targets the top three NLUs (NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, NUJS Kolkata), roughly 90+ marks keeps the top five to seven NLUs in reach, and ranks into the low thousands still open strong mid-tier NLUs. Reserved-category and state-domicile closing ranks run considerably more relaxed. Exact CLAT 2027 cut-offs are confirmed only after the Consortium's counselling rounds — the ranges here are indicative, drawn from recent years.

CLAT Syllabus 2027: Section-Wise Subjects, Weightage, PDF & What Actually Gets Tested
The CLAT syllabus for 2027 has five sections — English Language (~20%), Current Affairs & General Knowledge (~25%), Legal Reasoning (~25%), Logical Reasoning (~20%) and Quantitative Techniques (~10%) — across 120 passage-based MCQs in 2 hours, with +1 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong one. The key thing CLAT Coaching Delhi tells every aspirant: the CLAT syllabus is skill-based, not topic-based. It is not an NCERT-style list you "finish" — it defines the reading, reasoning and comprehension abilities the exam tests. The Consortium has confirmed the syllabus for CLAT 2027 is unchanged from 2026 (exam on 6 December 2026), so you can plan with confidence — though a proposed reform for CLAT 2028 could change this. More on that below.

How to Prepare for CLAT from Class 11: The Complete 2-Year Plan
To prepare for CLAT from Class 11, treat the two years before your Class 12 attempt as a runway to build reading, reasoning and current-affairs habits — not to rush the syllabus. Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR advises Class 11 students to begin with 1.5–2.5 hours of daily practice: around 30 minutes of reading, one sectional set in English, Legal or Logical Reasoning, 20 minutes of monthly GK, and one full mock every 15–20 days — then scale into weekly full-length mocks in the final year before the exam.

Difference Between an Advocate and an Attorney (and Lawyer, Barrister & Solicitor)
A lawyer is anyone with a law degree. An advocate is a lawyer enrolled with a Bar Council under the Advocates Act, 1961 who can argue cases in court. An attorney is chiefly a US term for a practising lawyer — the American counterpart of an Indian advocate; in India, “attorney” usually means the Attorney General or a power‑of‑attorney holder.
