When is CLAT 2027?

CLAT 2027 is on Sunday, 6 December 2026. The paper runs for two hours, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, in offline pen and paper mode at test centres across India. CLAT is conducted only once a year, so there is no second sitting: this one date covers admission to both the undergraduate and the postgraduate programmes for the 2027 session.

If you have seen the phrase clat exam kab hoga or searched for the next CLAT exam date, this is the answer. The date, the registration window and the fee are confirmed in the official notification released by the Consortium of NLUs on 22 July 2026.

CLAT 2027 registration: last date and how to apply

Registration for CLAT 2027 is done online on the Consortium website. It opened on 3 August 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is 31 October 2026. There is usually no separate late window, so it is safest to apply well before the deadline rather than on the final day, when the portal is busiest.

The application process is straightforward:

  1. Register with your name, email and mobile number to create an account on the Consortium portal.

  2. Fill in your personal, academic and category details exactly as they appear on your documents.

  3. Choose your preferred test cities. Candidates select three centre preferences from more than 130 centres nationally.

  4. Upload your photograph, signature and any category or PwD certificates in the required format.

  5. Pay the application fee online and save the confirmation. Only a paid, complete form is accepted.

For the official step list and the notification PDF, see our clat exam date notification 2027 page.

  • CLAT PG: hold an LLB or equivalent with at least 50% marks for general, or 45% for reserved categories.

  • Age: there is no upper age limit, and there is no cap on the number of attempts.

Full details are on our CLAT 2027 Eligibility page.

CLAT 2027 exam pattern in brief

The pattern is unchanged for 2027. The undergraduate paper has 120 multiple-choice questions to be answered in two hours, with one mark for each correct answer and 0.25 deducted for each wrong one. It is fully comprehension-based across five sections: English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. For the section-wise breakdown, see the CLAT 2027 Exam Pattern and the CLAT syllabus 2027 guide. If you are new to the exam, start with what the CLAT exam is and what it is for.

Admit card, answer key and result: what to expect

The Consortium has confirmed the notification, registration window and exam date. The post-application dates are not yet formally dated, but the recent pattern is a reliable guide:

  • Admit card: usually released in the second half of November 2026, about two weeks before the exam, and downloaded from the Consortium login using your registration number and date of birth.

  • Provisional answer key: typically published within a day or two of the exam, with a short objection window.

  • Result: usually declared in the third week of December 2026, after the final answer key.

  • Counselling: usually begins in late December 2026 and runs in online rounds for seat allotment across the NLUs.

What is new for CLAT 2027?

Three updates matter this cycle, and most date pages leave them out:

  • The pattern stays the same. CLAT 2027 keeps the 120-question, two-hour, five-section format, so your preparation plan does not need to change.

  • A reform committee is reviewing the exam. The Consortium set up an expert committee, chaired by Justice Indu Malhotra, to review the UG and PG exams. Any changes it recommends would apply from CLAT 2028 at the earliest, not 2027.

  • The PwD policy was revised. The Consortium issued a revised policy on reasonable accommodation for candidates with disabilities, and the need for a scribe must be stated in the registration form.

The exam is in December 2026: how to use the time left

With the exam on 6 December 2026 and registration closing on 31 October 2026, the calendar now does the deciding. The two things that move a score most in the final months are steady reading practice and full-length mock tests with proper analysis, which is exactly how our named CLAT 2026 selections, from Samiksha at All India Rank 45 to Naina Yadav at AIR 299, closed the gap.

If you want a structured finish, Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR runs specialist CLAT batches across five Delhi NCR centres with a rank-graded mock series and named faculty. Everything sits on our clat coaching delhi home page. See the full CLAT Coaching in Delhi programme, or study from home with our live clat coaching delhi ncr online batches.
