When does CLAT 2027 registration open and close?

CLAT 2027 registration opened on 3 August 2026 at 10 AM and closes on 31 October 2026. The Consortium of National Law Universities accepts the application only online, on its official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The exam itself falls on Sunday, 6 December 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in offline pen and paper mode.

Who can apply for CLAT 2027?

Anyone who has passed or is appearing in Class 12 can apply for CLAT UG 2027. There is no upper age limit, and there is no cap on the number of attempts. Students from the Science, Commerce and Arts streams are all eligible.

The minimum marks in Class 12 depend on your category.

Candidates sitting their Class 12 board exams in 2027 can still apply now. They only need to show proof of passing at the time of admission. For the postgraduate programme, CLAT PG 2027 needs an LL.B. degree with 50 percent marks for General and OBC and 45 percent for SC and ST candidates. Final-year LL.B. students can apply provisionally.

How many times can I attempt CLAT?

There is no limit on CLAT attempts. You can sit the exam as many times as you like, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria in the year you apply. There is also no upper age limit, so a droppers-year or a second attempt after Class 12 is entirely allowed. What is the CLAT 2027 application fee?

How do I fill the CLAT 2027 application form?

You fill the CLAT 2027 form online at consortiumofnlus.ac.in in eight steps: register, verify, enter your details, choose your programme and category, pick exam cities, upload documents, pay, and submit. The whole process takes about thirty minutes if your documents are ready.

1. Register on consortiumofnlus.ac.in using your mobile number and email ID. Your mobile number becomes your login, so use one you will keep.

2. Verify the OTP and set your password.

3. Enter your personal and academic details exactly as they appear on your certificates. A name mismatch causes problems at verification.

4. Select the UG or PG programme and your category.

5. Choose your preferred exam cities in order of priority. The Consortium runs more than 130 centres and lets you pick three preferences.

6. Upload your photograph, signature and any category, PwD or BPL certificate in the prescribed format.

7. Pay the application fee online and confirm the payment status.

8. Review the whole form, submit it, and download the confirmation page and fee receipt.

What documents do I need for CLAT registration?

Keep these ready as scanned files before you start, so you do not have to leave the form midway:

• A recent passport-size photograph

• Your signature

• Category certificate, if you claim SC, ST, OBC or EWS

• PwD certificate, if applicable

• BPL certificate, if applicable

Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets are needed for UG, and LL.B. details for PG. Enter every name and number exactly as printed on the originals.

How do I log in to the CLAT portal and official website?

The official CLAT website is consortiumofnlus.ac.in. To log in, open the site, click the CLAT 2027 login, and enter the registered mobile number and password you created during registration. There is no separate login ID. The same login is used later to download your admit card and to check your result, so save the credentials safely.

What if I make a mistake on the form? The correction window

The Consortium opens a correction window after the application closes, so a small error is not the end of the world. You log back in with your registered mobile number and password and edit the permitted fields within the correction period. Not every field can be changed, and no changes are accepted once the window shuts, so it is far safer to get the form right the first time and treat correction as a backup, not a plan.

CLAT PG 2027 registration runs on the same portal and the same dates as UG, from 3 August to 31 October 2026.
