The CLAT 2026 topper is Geetali Gupta from Rajasthan, who secured All India Rank 1 in the undergraduate exam with 112.75 out of 120, and was allotted NLSIU Bengaluru. That score is the highest under the current 120-mark comprehension-based format, roughly 9 marks above the previous year's topper. The Consortium of National Law Universities declared the result on 16 December 2025, and Geetali Gupta was coached at LegalEdge.
This page from Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR gives you the full CLAT 2026 toppers list, the record score in context, the real exam numbers, and a clear breakdown of what the toppers did in their preparation, so the list becomes something you can learn from rather than just read.
One honest note up front. We report the official toppers as the Consortium published them, and we credit each topper to the institute that actually taught them. AIR 1 Geetali Gupta studied at LegalEdge, not with us. Further down, we show Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR's own verified 2026 results separately, because a toppers page is only useful if you can trust every name on it.
CLAT 2026 toppers list (UG)
The Consortium officially publishes the merit list and the top scores, while the rank-wise names below are compiled from that merit list as reported by the exam portals. The Consortium disclosed only the highest scores officially, so most individual rank-holder marks are not public.

The single official reference for any candidate's rank and score is the Consortium merit list and the individual scorecard, reached by logging in at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Treat any name-and-mark list, including this one, as a compilation to be confirmed against that scorecard.
The record score and what it means
Geetali Gupta's 112.75 is not just this year's top score, it is the highest AIR 1 score since CLAT moved to its comprehension-based 120-mark format. The previous year's topper, Saksham Gautam, led CLAT 2025 with 103.5, so the top of the paper rose by about 9 marks in a single cycle.
That jump matters for how you read cutoffs. A higher topper score usually signals a paper that rewarded accuracy and reading speed, and a top end that got more competitive even as the field grew. If you are aiming for a top NLU, the takeaway is not the exact number, it is that the margin between a good score and a top-100 score stays thin, so a single careless section can cost hundreds of ranks.
CLAT 2026 in numbers
The toppers sat the same paper as a record field, which is part of why the result drew so much attention.
Measure | CLAT 2026 |
Total registered | 92,344 (UG 75,009, PG 17,335) |
Candidates who appeared | 88,657 (UG 72,631, PG 16,026) |
Attendance | About 96 percent |
Female share of applicants | 57 percent |
Exam date | 7 December 2025 |
Result declared | 16 December 2025 |
Highest UG score | 112.75 (Geetali Gupta, AIR 1) |
The record registration and the record top score in the same year point the same way. More candidates are preparing more seriously, so the paper is not getting easier, and the plan that gets you to a top rank has to be built for that level of competition.
CLAT PG 2026 topper
The postgraduate result was declared on the same day. The highest CLAT PG 2026 score reported is about 104 out of 120, but the Consortium did not publish the full rank-wise PG topper list with names and marks the way the top UG score was shared. PG candidates should treat their own scorecard on the Consortium portal as the only definitive record of their rank.
Where the CLAT 2026 toppers are headed
Top ranks convert into seats at the most sought-after National Law Universities. AIR 1 Geetali Gupta was allotted NLSIU Bengaluru, the university that usually sits at the top of the preference order. In general, candidates inside the top 100 have the strongest shot at their preferred NLU, while the rest of the merit list fills the remaining seats through the counselling rounds by rank, category, and preference order. Your own scorecard and the counselling schedule on consortiumofnlus.ac.in are what decide where you land.
What the CLAT 2026 toppers did right
The useful part of a toppers list is the pattern behind it. Read across this year's topper accounts and the habits are strikingly ordinary and strikingly consistent.
They practised on real papers. Toppers work through the actual paper style rather than random questions, which is why steady work on the CLAT previous year papers shows up in almost every account.
They lived inside mocks and analysis. The routine that repeats is not just taking mocks, it is analysing every mock, logging errors by type, and redoing wrong questions a couple of days later.
They read daily. A daily newspaper habit, even 30 minutes, is how the strongest candidates turned Current Affairs and GK from a weak spot into a scoring section.
They played the paper, not the clock. With 120 questions in 120 minutes and negative marking, toppers chose attempts carefully and protected accuracy, which is exactly what the CLAT 2027 exam pattern rewards.
They stayed steady through dips. Almost every account describes a mid-year slump in mock ranks, and the difference was treating it as feedback rather than a verdict.
None of that is a secret formula. It is a structured plan, run daily, with honest feedback, which is exactly what coaching is supposed to provide and self-study most often lacks.
Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR's own CLAT 2026 results
We publish toppers only against the centre that actually taught them, so this section is about our students, not anyone else's.
In April 2026, Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR felicitated 230 CLAT 2026 and AILET 2026 toppers at its Fateh 2026 event. That felicitation was reported independently by Press Trust of India, ANI, Business Standard, The Week, and The Wire, among others, so it is third-party coverage rather than a claim we wrote about ourselves. Across our batches since 2009, our students have earned more than 1310 NLU selections, and our best result over those years is an All India Rank of 1 among them.
You can see the press coverage and our centre-wise selections on the Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR results, and each of our centres in Hauz Khas, GTB Nagar, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram lists the selections it taught, and no one else's.
From a toppers list to your own rank
Reading a toppers list is motivating, but it changes nothing on its own. What changes your rank is starting early, on a real plan, against real papers, with feedback after every test. If you are eligible and serious about CLAT 2027, that work starts now, not in the last few months.
Check whether you meet the CLAT 2027 eligibility, note the confirmed dates on the CLAT 2027 exam date and notification guide, and then build the daily routine the toppers actually used. The names on next year's list are decided in the eleven months before the exam, not on results day.
Call to action
Want your name on next year's list? The toppers did not do anything magical, they did the ordinary things every day with feedback. Law Prep Tutorial Delhi NCR builds every batch only for the CLAT paper: NLU alumni faculty, in-house material and past papers, and full-length mocks with rank and section-wise gap analysis after each test. If you cannot attend a centre, the same programme runs through our online CLAT coaching.
