The record score and what it means

Geetali Gupta's 112.75 is not just this year's top score, it is the highest AIR 1 score since CLAT moved to its comprehension-based 120-mark format. The previous year's topper, Saksham Gautam, led CLAT 2025 with 103.5, so the top of the paper rose by about 9 marks in a single cycle.

That jump matters for how you read cutoffs. A higher topper score usually signals a paper that rewarded accuracy and reading speed, and a top end that got more competitive even as the field grew. If you are aiming for a top NLU, the takeaway is not the exact number, it is that the margin between a good score and a top-100 score stays thin, so a single careless section can cost hundreds of ranks.

The highest CLAT PG 2026 score reported is about 104 out of 120, but the Consortium did not publish the full rank-wise PG topper list with names and marks the way the top UG score was shared. PG candidates should treat their own scorecard on the Consortium portal as the only definitive record of their rank.

Where the CLAT 2026 toppers are headed

Top ranks convert into seats at the most sought-after National Law Universities. AIR 1 Geetali Gupta was allotted NLSIU Bengaluru, the university that usually sits at the top of the preference order.
