The 7 CLAT Logical Reasoning Question Types

1. Inference — What can be concluded from the passage?

2. Assumption — What must be true for the argument to hold?

3. Strengthening/Weakening — What evidence supports or undermines the claim?

4. Analogy — Find the parallel relationship

5. Syllogism — All A are B; some B are C — what follows?

6. Statement-Conclusion — Does the conclusion follow from the statement?

7. Arrangement/Sequencing — Order people/events based on clues

Fastest Shortcut for Each Type

For Inference: Look for the most conservative statement — don't over-read.

For Assumption: The assumption bridges the gap between premise and conclusion.

For Analogy: Identify the relationship type first (part-whole, cause-effect, etc.)
